Outstanding Hockey from TGHS

Grand Final of Senior Women's Hockey TGHS 1st XI v Hampstead from Mid Canterbury in the combined Mid/South Canterbury Competition. Hampstead Women are an outstanding team who have held the trophy for the last few years and have not lost a game all season and today our girls (average age of 15) took it to them. Full time score was tied 1-1 with the young TGHS team going down in a penalty shoot out. These young girls not only earned the respect of their opposition but also the 200 odd spectators that witnessed their play today. They were simply outstanding and we could not have been any prouder of them!14045810 902058493257726 5648897398636918654 n:)

TGHS finished 2nd in Hockey, 4th in Netball and 2nd in Basktetball to come a fantastic 2nd overall. Best result for TGHS for a number of years. Great effort from all of the girls over the two days of competition in Oamaru.

Huge congratulations to the TGHS A Basketball team and the awesome coach Sean Fuller who won the South Canterbury Womens League final in a nail biter against Craighead 59-57... Not many finger nails left on the TGHS supporters after that tense game! Great to see so many TGHS girls up there supporting their mates in true TGHS spirit!
