TGHS take the WIN over Craighead Diocesan


Craighead Diocesan's Roseanna Porter tries to stop Timaru Girls' High School captain Jenna-Rae McIntrye from firing a shot at goal.

The Timaru Girls' High School first XI hockey team secured double bragging rights against rivals Craighead Diocesan with a 3-0 win on Friday.

They clashed in the Anzac secondary schoolgirls tournament, while the fixture doubled as a South Canterbury women's division one hockey clash after it was deferred last weekend due to the school holidays.

Winning Gold!

News  from Dunedin at the South Island Secondary School Athletics. Tillie Hollyer has taken out the 1500m race that has just finished. Huge congratulations to Tillie who wins Gold in the 800m, 1500m and the 3000m. Outstanding achievement Tillie!!


41 year old record Smashed!

A delighted Eve-Leigh Reihana-Robinson broke at 1976 shot put record at Timaru Girls' High School.

Mandy Toneycliffe's 1976 junior shot put record has finally fallen at the Timaru Girls' High School athletic sports.

Eve-Leigh Reihana-Robinson's put of 9.76m in the under 14 grade was 20cm further than Toneycliffe's 41-year-old record.
