Gateway

Gateway is a Tertiary Education Commission funded programme designed to provide workplace learning for senior students. Students spend one day per week in a workplace that is aligned to their career plan. They will gain valuable hands on experience and will also complete unit standards appropriate to both a national certificate qualification in their career placement and to NCEA Level two and three.

Gateway is a timetabled subject and students are provided with time and resources to complete there remaining school subjects.

Students wishing to be considered for Gateway will fill in an application form and are invited to an interview. This year placements have included Floristry Early Childhood Education Veterinary Nursing Hairdressing Tourism and Hospitality.
