Timaru Girls’ High School values the broad scope that its arts and culture bring to students. Participating in our Performing Arts’ activities assists girls in a number of transferable ways. Improving communication and language skills, supporting social and emotional wellbeing and self confidence. We value music, drama, visual arts and languages which bring diverse culture, knowledge and empowerment to our kura.

Annual musical production a twin hit
Combined musical production
A combined musical production with Timaru Boys’ High School is performed each year and is a highlight for performing arts students from both schools. . Each school alternates responsibility for producing and hosting this event and its production is enjoyed and supported by parents and community.
Instrument tutors develop individual talent
Students are offered free music tuition in a range of instruments.
Instruments can be hired from the Music Department.
