Uniforms
Uniform is an important part of school tradition. Wearing the correct uniform in a neat and tidy fashion is a way for students to show self-pride and discipline, as well as pride in the school and respect for its traditions.
Our uniform supplier is NZ Uniforms. You can order online or they have a shop at 151a Hilton Highway, Washdyke Timaru, Phone 03 555 5662. Opening hours are 9am-5pm Monday -Friday and Saturday 9am-1pm.
We do not sell second hand uniforms. There are two local Facebook pages that may have items. they are called 'School Uniforms Timaru' and 'Timaru School Uniforms'

WINTER UNIFORM
- Students can wear either the tartan Kilt or Pants.
- A white blouse and navy plain tie for year 9-12 and a striped navy tie for year 13's.
- For warmth, students can wear a jersey, vest, soft shell jacket and/or blazer.
- Blazers are optional for any student at any level
- There is also a rain coat available designed to fit over the blazer.
- A regulation scarf is optional with winter uniform (TGHS blue and white striped, plain black, plain navy or plain white scarves only).
SUMMER UNIFORM
- Students can wear either the checked skirt or the navy shorts.
- A white summer shirt with our school logo on the sleeve.
- For warmth, students can wear a jersey, vest, soft shell jacket and/or blazer.
- Blazers are optional for any student at any level.
- There is also a rain coat available.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIFORM
- PE sports top - available via the school
- Shorts/Leggings - plain navy or black.
- TGHS Hoody - available via the school
- TGHS sports jacket - available via the school.
- TGHS Rugby Jersey - available via the school.
- TGHS Thermal - available via the school
- PE uniforms are NOT to be worn with the school uniform including the jacket.
HAIR
Hair must be neat and tidy, off the face. Hair ties, ribbons and bands must be plain navy blue or black. No cloth head bands or decorative hair clips, or other hair accessories are permitted. Extreme hair styles and colours are not permitted. *
Shoulder length hair (or longer) must be tied up and tied neatly back off the face.

MAKE UP
Make up or nail polish is not permitted to be worn. No obvious tattoos are permitted. *

JEWELLERY
One plain gold or silver stud or sleeper is permitted in each lower ear lobe only. No other jewellery or piercings are permitted (eg rings, bracelets, necklaces). A culturally significant item such as a taonga* can be worn around the neck and under the uniform. A watch is permitted.

Sports Uniform Orders
Sports Uniforms are only ordered in March and November of each year.
Please contact the school if you require sports uniform out of these times.
A reminder that sports uniform is NOT to be worn with the school uniform and
is for sportswear only (including the jacket and the hoody)
