Sarah completed her BA in History and Film at Victoria University Te Herenga Waka in 1990, going on to the University of East Anglia in 1991 on a scholarship to learn film archiving, resulting in an MA.

She worked at the British Film Institute National Archive for 6 years, and at the audiovisual archive of Aotearoa, Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision for 15. She is now the Local History Librarian at Selwyn Libraries, where she works with communities to preserve and share their stories of life in the Selwyn District, through exhibitions, oral history and online collections.

She has made a life in history thanks to inspiration from TGHS.
